Dr. Grace Liu

Dr. Grace Liu, PharmD, is a clinical pharmacist and IFM trained functional medicine practitioner (AFMCP) who founded The Gut Institute, an education and formulation practice focused entirely on the gut microbiome. She is widely known in the functional and ancestral health community as The Gut Goddess.

Her clinical work centers on rebuilding the microbiome using functional lab testing, nutrigenomic tools, resistant starch and targeted probiotics. In her own words the goal is reversing modern gut dysbiosis and disease, rather than managing symptoms one prescription at a time. The Gut Institute states its motto simply: bugs over drugs.

The conditions she works with are the ones that rarely resolve with a single intervention: SIBO, dysbiosis, food reactivity, acne and skin disorders, autoimmunity, mold illness, co-infections and persistent brain fog. Her consulting clientele has included athletes and coaches from the paleo and combat sports world, among them Robb Wolf, Kyle Kingsbury, Noad Lahat and Miriam Nakamoto.

She is a frequent conference speaker and podcast guest, with appearances at Paleo f(x) and LowCarbUSA and on Bulletproof Radio, The Paleo Solution, Rational Wellness, Endurance Planet and Biohacker Babes. In 2018 she published a practitioner facing guide, 7 Steps To Heal SIBO. Her long running writing includes the Animal Pharm blog and, more recently, gutgoddess.blog.

Her bridge to peptide medicine is direct. The Gut Institute publishes a program titled Beyond Probiotics: The Emerging Science of Peptides and the Gut Microbiome, which examines how peptide signalling and the microbiome intersect. That intersection is exactly where her teaching contribution at Peptide University sits: gut terrain as a precondition for peptide response.
